Cuc Phuong National Park Field trip

On 19/08 Wildhand took a field trip to Cuc Phuong National Park (Ninh Binh Province)

🌹🌹🌹We would like to thank Dr. Jessica – Veterinary Manager, Dr. Hai – Veterinarians at Save Vietnam’s Wildlife and Dr. Thuy – Veterinarian in Endangered Primate Rescue Center. They led us to visit new modern veterinary clinic and shared about rescue process, some remedies for wildlife as well as their experience when working with wild animals.

🍁In Cuc Phuong National Park, we went to:

  • 🐢🐢🐢 Cuc Phuong turtle conservation centre: There are the most 25 endangered turtles in the world including 3 species in Vietnam and 22 species in other countries. We also enjoyed and observed turtles in aquariums. Especially, we knew that besides the great grandfather turtle in Hoan Kiem Lake, we also have other individuals with the same species (Rafetus swinhoei) in China and Vietnam.
  • 🐵🐵🐵Endangered Primate Rescue Center have rescued more than 100 primates including many critical endangered species.
  • 🐹🐹 Save Vietnam’s wildlife: this center has rescued more and more pangolins since it was established (about 500 individuals in 2007) and the number of rescue pangolins is continually increasing. Because the demand for rescuing, the center has build a new veterinary clinic with much modern equipment. We also observed a pangolin in recovery and learn more about first aid and treatment processes for wild animals. After that, we really admired those people because they are the first wildlife vets in Vietnam.

🐾🐾🐾 After having visited the animals in these centers, we crossed ten kilometers to go to the forest to see a thousand-year-old tree in Cuc Phuong National Park. Cuc Phuong Botanical Garden is one of the first three botanical gardens of Vietnam listed in the International Botanical Gardens. This is a rain forest with many rare trees, fruit trees, bamboo, medicinal plants, orchids… we met many little species such as butterflies, spiders, salamanders, dragonflies, dragonflies and stick insects. We also had a short experience time with no phone connection, but we still had phone and camera to save our precious moments. That’s our day in Cuc Phuong National Park. Vietnam’s nature is extremely beautiful and plentiful, so we’d better protect them. Together, we give a hand for a chance for our grandsons and granddaughters can see wild animals roaring in the wild.
